The Casablanca-Settat and Souss-Massa regions lead in contamination

This Thursday, August 18, Morocco is reporting 79 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, for a national total since the start of the epidemic of 1,263,779. The regions of Greater Casablanca-Settat and Souss-Massa are the most affected by contamination.

Currently, the total of active cases rises to 815, with 25 of them in serious condition. As for the geographical distribution of new cases recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, it is the Greater Casablanca-Settat region which once again tops the list of the most affected regions with a total of 22 cases (17 in Casablanca, 2 in El Jadida, 1 in Nouaceur, 1 in Mohammadia, 1 in Berrechid).

The second region in the ranking is that of Souss-Massa which counts 13 new infections (12 in Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane, 1 in Tata), notes the MoroccoLatestNews monitoring and monitoring platform, .

It is followed by the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra which has identified 10 positive cases (8 in Rabat, 1 in Skhorate-Témara, 1 in Kénitra), then that of Oriental with 10 new cases (5 in Nador, 4 in Oujda-Angad, 1 in Berkane), and that of Marrakech-Safi which shows 5 new contaminations (4 in Marrakech, 1 in Youssoufia).

Then comes the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region which recorded 5 cases (3 in Tangier-Assilah, 1 in Tetouan, 1 in Fahs-Anjra), and Fez-Meknes which recorded 5 cases (23 in Meknes, 2 in taza).

The Béni Mellal-Khénifra region recorded 3 cases (2 in Azilal, 1 in Khouribga), followed by the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region which recorded 2 cases all in Oued Ed-Dahab, followed by the Laâyoune-Sakia region El Hamra which identified 2 cases in Laayoune, then the region of Draâ-Tafilalet which identified a case in the city of Ouarzazate and finally the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun which identified a case in the city of Sidi Ifni.

The Ministry of Health thus invites citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
