More than 530,000 passengers entered Morocco via Tanger Med

Some 530,436 passengers have entered Morocco through the Tanger Med port since the start of Operation Marhaba 2022 on June 5 and until August 1.

According to Tanger Med Port Authority, the number of passengers is up 10% compared to 2019, 136,263 vehicles having returned to Morocco through the Tanger Med Passengers port during the same period.

Two peaks were recorded during the weekends of July 2 to 4 and July 30 to August 1, corresponding to arrivals of 62,759 and 61,468 passengers respectively.

The Marhaba campaign is taking place in good conditions, thanks to the involvement of all the actors concerned by the operation, in particular the local authorities, the DGSN, Customs, Health Control at the Borders and the Royal Gendarmerie, in coordination with the Fondation Mohammed V for solidarity, underlines the press release.

Furthermore, the system for the return phase is in place. In this respect, the port authority invites travelers to consult the traffic forecasts available on the website and the mobile application, and plan their return to avoid long waiting periods, more particularly the peak period from August 25 to 30, 2022, in accordance with the calendar communicated.

Likewise, the port authority informs passengers that they must obtain, before going to the port, a return ticket issued by their maritime company which specifies a firm date and time of travel.

Many communication tools at the service of passengers are available to enable them to stay constantly informed about news from the Tanger Med Passagers port, including social networks, the website, the mobile application, and Radio Tanger Med (which broadcasts on the FM 100 frequency and in streaming).
