Lions Club Morocco distributes in-kind aid to 600 affected families

The volunteers of the Lions Club Morocco distributed, Wednesday in the municipalities of Tatoft and Boujediane, aid in kind to 600 families affected following the forest fires which broke out recently in the province of Larache.

Coming from several regions of the Kingdom, Lions Club volunteers ensured the delivery of aid to the villages affected by the fire which broke out recently in the forest of Bni Ysef Al-Srif, near Ksar el Kebir, and which ravaged large areas of forest cover, fruit trees, fields and beehives.

Governor of District 416 of the Lions Club, Tarik Moudni, said that nearly 40 members of the Lions Club Morocco went to the disaster areas for the distribution of aid worth more than one million dirhams for the benefit of 600 families.

As a non-profit organization, the Lions Club is carrying out this humanitarian operation to help people affected by the forest fires, he explained, adding that the aid includes blankets, food, clothing effects, in addition to satchels for families with children.

This is, he said, the first emergency initiative targeting mainly the villages of the commune of Boujediane most affected by the fires, noting that other similar initiatives will follow soon in order to assist the local population affected by forest fires.

Lions Club volunteers, in collaboration with Moroccan Red Crescent volunteers and under the supervision of local authorities, have been split into two groups to cover the majority of affected villages, reach remote areas and deliver aid to the most affected people. and the most vulnerable.

The volunteers welcomed the beneficiaries according to pre-established lists in coordination with the local authorities, before unloading the aid at the points closest to the homes of the beneficiaries.

This initiative is consistent with the spirit of the objectives set by the International Lions Club on continued support for social actions aimed at people in need and in precarious situations.

The Lions Club actively contributes to charitable services and acts according to the principles of solidarity, friendship and peace which govern the action of the International Lions Club in order to improve the living conditions of the needy.
