Industrial activity continues to improve in June

The results of the Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) business survey for the month of June indicate an improvement, from one month to the next, in activity.

Thus, production would have increased in all branches with the exception of “chemicals and parachemicals” where it would have rather declined, specifies the Central Bank in its recent survey based on data collected between July 1 and 29, 2022.

Under these conditions, the Production Capacity Utilization Rate (TUC) would have stood at 74%, a slight increase compared to the previous month, standing at levels comparable to those observed before the health crisis, adds the same source. .

Sales would, for their part, have recorded an increase in all branches except “textiles and leather” and “chemicals and parachemicals” where they would have rather stagnated.

With regard to orders, they would have improved in all the branches, with order books which would have been at a lower level than normal in all the branches with the exception of “agri-food” where they would be set at a normal level.

For the next three months, manufacturers expect an improvement in activity, with however almost a third of them saying that they have no visibility as to the future development of production and sales.
