Holding of the 5th edition dedicated to Africa's climate resilience

Ifrane Forum, African Trade and Investment Summit, announces the holding of its 5th edition dedicated to Africa’s climate resilience. Under the theme Climate change: Africa takes its destiny into its own handsthis edition which will take place from October 26 to 28, 2022 in the city of Ifrane, will bring together nearly 200 participants from 25 African countries.

Quoted in the press release announcing the holding of the Forum, Khadija Idrissi Janati, President of the Forum, said in this regard that Africa is responsible for less than 4% of greenhouse gas emissions in the world. However, the continent bears the full brunt of the impacts of climate change and particularly women and young people, she noted.

“Held on the eve of COP 27, this 5e edition will be an exceptional meeting, reflection and mobilization. Beyond observing the state of play, Ifrane Forum 2022 will highlight private sector initiatives and innovative solutions developed by African start-ups to meet the challenges of climate change. It will encourage stakeholders to engage more to provide adequate responses to the climate emergency in Africa », explains the president of the Forum.

Through conferences, workshops and debates spread over 3 days, Ifrane Forum 2022 will address key issues related to climate change, including food security, impact on employment, gender and climate, private sector engagement , finance and green entrepreneurship, climate diplomacy, non-polluting industries, with the contribution of experts, researchers and economic and political decision-makers from more than 30 African countries .

BtoB meetings and field visits will also be organized, specifies the same source, to promote meetings and catalyze collaboration between African operators.

This 5e edition of Ifrane Forum is, according to the organizers, in line with the objectives that the platform has set itself since its first edition, namely to promote the African private sector as a powerful partner in Africa’s development and bring together around the same table the various stakeholders of the African economy (economic operators, political decision-makers, non-governmental organizations, federations and professional associations and start-ups), making this event a unique platform at the service of intra-regional cooperation. -Africa, the statement concludes.
