Casablanca-Settat and Oriental at the top of the most affected regions

This Wednesday, August 3, Morocco is reporting 317 new confirmed cases of coronavirus, for a national total since the start of the epidemic of 1,261,816. The regions of Greater Casablanca-Settat and Oriental are the most affected by contamination.

Currently, the total active cases rise to 3,197, with 87 of them in serious condition. As for the geographical distribution of new cases recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, it is the Greater Casablanca-Settat region which once again leads the most affected regions with a total of 88 cases (62 in Casablanca, 10 in Nouaceur, 7 in El Jadida, 4 in Mohammadia, 3 in Sidi Bennour, 1 in Berrechid, 1 in Médiouna).

The second region in the ranking is that of the Oriental which counts 55 new infections (16 in Berkane, 15 in Oujda-Angad, 10 in Nador, 7 in Taourirt, 4 in Driouch, 3 in Figuig), notes the monitoring platform and MoroccoLatestNews follow-up, www.moroccolatestnews.com.

It is followed by the region of Fez-Meknes which has identified 42 positive cases (17 in Fez, 13 in Taza, 4 in Taounate, 4 in Meknes, 2 in Sefrou, 1 in Boulemane, 1 in El Hajeb), then that of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra with 39 new cases (19 in Rabat, 12 in Salé, 7 in Skhirate-Témara, 1 in Sidi Kacem), and that of Souss-Massa which shows 28 new contaminations (20 in Agadir-Ida-Ou- Tanane, 3 in Taroudannt, 2 in Tiznit, 2 in Chtouka-Ait Baha, 1 in Inezgane-Ait Melloul).

Then comes the region of Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima which has identified 22 cases (7 in Tangier-Assilah, 6 in Tetouan, 3 in Larache, 3 in M’Diq-Fnideq, 2 in Chefchaouen, 1 in Ouezzane), and Marrakech -Safi which recorded 18 cases (13 in Marrakech, 3 in Rehamna, 1 in Youssoufia, 1 in Safi), then the region of Béni Mellal-Khénifra which recorded 13 cases (11 in Khénifra, 1 in Khouribga, 1 in Azilal ).

The Draâ-Tafilalet region recorded 5 cases (2 in Midelt, 2 in Ouarzazate, 1 in Tinghir), followed by the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region which recorded 4 cases in the city of Oued Ed-Dahab, followed by the region of Guelmim-Oued Noun which identified 2 cases (1 in Sidi Ifni, 1 in Guelmim), and finally the region of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra which identified 1 case in the city of Laayoune.

The Ministry of Health thus invites citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
