CAF President welcomes the great success of the women's AFCON organized in Morocco

The President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Patrice Motsepe welcomed the great success of the 12th edition of the Women’s AFCON, organized from July 2 to 23 in Morocco.

In “letter of congratulations addressed to the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), Fouzi Lekjaa, as well as to the members of the FRMF and the Moroccan people”, Motsepe said he was proud of the stadiums and high-level football facilities available to Morocco and which were made available to the twelve selections in contention during this 12th edition.

According to the FRMF website, the CAF president also praised the good administrative and technical level of the Moroccan executives and volunteers who worked throughout this competition.

The CAF President recalled that the Kingdom of Morocco broke all records in this edition, stressing that he will be happy to return to Morocco for the CAF Super Cup final, scheduled for September 10. between the Wydad Athletic Club and the Renaissance Sportive de Berkane.

This edition was won by the South African women’s selection, after their victory by 2 goals to 1 (half-time 0-0) against their Moroccan counterpart.
