87 severe cases admitted to REA nationwide, and 24 on artificial respiration

The occupancy rate of intensive care beds stood at 1.7% on Wednesday August 3. In just 24 hours, 13 new severe cases were admitted to intensive care, bringing the national total to 87 critical cases. The cases under artificial respiration are 24 at the national level while 6 new intubated cases have been identified in the Kingdom, said the Ministry of Health in its daily epidemiological report.

The number of new tests carried out in 24 hours reached 8,026 for a national total of 12,260,452 tests carried out since the start of the pandemic. In addition, Morocco has recorded six (6) deaths in the past 24 hours.

In detail, the deaths were recorded in the Casablanca Settat region (2 deaths in Casablanca), 2 deaths in the Orientale region (1 in Figuig, 1 in Jerada), 1 death in the Fez-Meknes region in the city of Taounate, and one death in the region of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra in the city of Rabat. Thus, the national total of deaths recorded since the start of the pandemic amounts to 16,248 for a fatality rate which stands at 1.29%.

Morocco has also recorded 736 recoveries, bringing the national total since the start of the pandemic to 1,242,371 remissions. The recovery rate stands at 98.46% this Wednesday, while the total number of active cases stands at 3,197 cases (0.25%).

In addition, and as indicated by the MoroccoLatestNews monitoring and monitoring platform, www.moroccolatestnews.com, the Kingdom has identified in the past 24 hours, 317 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, bringing the national total of contaminations proven to 1,261,816 cases.

With regard to vaccination, the number of beneficiaries of the first dose of the vaccine since the start of the national campaign reached 24,878,498, with 23,369,193 beneficiaries of the two doses, 6,694,913 benefited from the third dose of the vaccine while 28,453 benefited from the 4th booster dose, reports the department of Khalid Ait Taleb.

The Ministry of Health thus invites citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
