4,589 tests carried out in 24 hours, and 1,951 active cases nationwide

In 24 hours, 4,589 PCR tests were carried out in Morocco for a national total of 12,294,765 tests carried out since the start of the pandemic. Thus, active cases under treatment nationwide increased to 1,951 cases (0.15%).

In its epidemiological report for this Monday, August 8, the Ministry of Health reports 61 critical cases admitted to intensive care nationwide, including 9 new admissions in the last 24 hours. The occupancy rate of resuscitation beds dedicated to Covid-19 stands at 1.2%. Similarly, 4 cases under intubation were identified on Monday while the total number of cases under artificial respiration stood at 15 cases.

In addition, Morocco has recorded two deaths from Covid-19 in the past 24 hours in the city of Casablanca (Casablanca-Settat regions) and the city of Agadir-Ida-Ou-Tanane (Souss-Massa region). The national total of deaths since the start of the pandemic therefore stands at 16,259. The fatality rate stands at 1.29% on Monday.

Morocco has also recorded 308 recoveries, bringing the national total since the start of the pandemic to 1,244,486 remissions, while the recovery rate stood at 98.56% on Monday.
