Week in the red for the Casablanca Stock Exchange

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week from July 4 to July 8, 2022 in the red, its main index, the Masi, dropping 0.28% to 11,711.37 points.

The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, lost 0.03% to 946.35 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, the benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) index. , gained 0.3% to 880.44 points.

At the end of this week, 9 sector indices closed on a positive note, against 12 in negative territory and two others stable. The chemical index (-4.85%) showed the strongest decline, followed by the “Insurance” sectors (-4.10%) and that of the “Pharmaceutical industry” (-2.99%) .

Against the trend, “agribusiness” (+2.98%) recorded the best weekly performance, ahead of “engineering and industrial capital goods” (+2.39%) and “forestry and paper” (+2.06%). The overall volume amounted to nearly 571.26 million dirhams (MDH). On the podium of the most active stocks are BCP with a transaction volume of 84.01 MDH, Attijariwafa Bank (68.27 MDH) and Managem (42.55 MDH).

Market capitalization exceeded 609 billion dirhams (MMDH).

On the securities side, the biggest drops of the week were recorded by Wafa Assurance (-7.5%), Involys (-5.96%), Jet Contractors (-5.7%), IB Maroc.com (5. 64%) and SNEP (-5.17%). On the other hand, the best performances were the work of Ennakl (+6.26%), Zellidja. SA (+5%), SM Monétique (+4.54%), BCP (+4.08%) and BMCI (+4%).
