Throne Cup Final: WAC for a historic treble, RSB for a 2nd title

The final of the Throne Cup (2020-2021) will reveal its secrets this Thursday, July 28. The meeting will oppose two clubs, authors of an exceptional course this season, namely Wydad de Casablanca, winner of the African Champions League and champion of the championship, and Renaissance de Berkane, holder of the CAF Cup.

This final, which will take place on the lawn of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, will also be a life-size test before the African Supercup, which will pit these same teams against each other, for an African summit, 100% Moroccan.

The two teams, accustomed to major football events, each have their own challenges. The Reds dream of a historic treble, having won the CAF Champions League and the Botola Pro D1 title, and can even push the ambition further, eyeing a quadruple if they win the African Super Cup.

For its part, the RSB wants to win a second title in this competition after a first won in 2018.

Note that the WAC has an impressive record in the Throne Cup with 9 nine titles (1970, 1978, 1979, 1981, 1989, 1994, 1997, 1998 and 2001), and will therefore be keen to return to success after having failed close to the goal (final) in 2003 and 2004, and before that in 1957, 1958 and 1964.
