In the social aspect, King Mohammed VI did not fail to recall that the general context of recent years has been marked by the effects of the Covid-19 crisis which have been felt in all economic and social sectors. .

The Sovereign mentioned in this sense the large fringes of the population, in particular the poor or in precarious situations, who have been strongly affected socially and economically.

But by the grace of God, he said, and thanks to the joint efforts of citizens and authorities, the Moroccan people were able to overcome this difficult situation through singular management.

Indeed, at the cost of a considerable effort, the State has borne the exorbitant cost of the fight against the pandemic by granting direct material aid to families in need and by providing support to the sectors affected.“, he recalled, referring to the financial aid granted to needy families during the confinement due to Covid-19 and which varied between 800 and 1,200 DHS depending on the number of people per family, noting that the state also provided a regular and sufficient supply of basic necessities in all regions of the country.

Regarding the anti-covid vaccination which was launched in January 2021 in the Kingdom, the Sovereign recalled that, “ notwithstanding the expensive cost of the vaccine, Morocco was, in the opinion of all, one of the first countries to take the judicious initiative to obtain it and make it freely available to citizens and foreigners residing in Morocco “.

In the same context, the King mentioned in his speech the implementation of the major project to generalize social protection to all Moroccans and to upgrade the health system, which was launched in 2020 by his own initiative and following its high directives, or the many projects that aim to achieve health sovereignty and ensure the safety and security of citizens.

” En less than a year, the number of self-employed workers and the number of their families benefiting from AMO passed the six million mark. In addition, at the end of the current year, the compulsory health coverage project will be completed, extending to RAMED beneficiaries. Furthermore, at the end of 2023, and with God’s help, We are determined to implement the project for the gradual generalization of family allowances, in accordance with the schedule“, he assured.

This solidarity project of national interest, continues the Sovereign, ” will benefit approximately seven (7) million children, in particular those who belong to poor or precarious families and three million households without children of school age “.

To this end, King Mohammed VI has called for the diligent operationalization of the Unified Social Registry (RSU), considered the “main mechanism for granting effective support”.
