Raheem Sterling bids farewell to Manchester City

England international Raheem Sterling announced his forthcoming departure from Manchester City on Wednesday in a post on Twitter.

At 27, the English winger had joined Manchester City very young and won four Premier League titles among the nine major trophies. His transfer to Chelsea seems to be taking shape.

“Seven seasons, eleven major trophies, a lifetime of memories,” he wrote on Twitter announcing his departure. “What a long way! “, he added.

“I came to Manchester when I was 20. Today I leave as a man. Thank you for your unwavering support. It has been an honor to wear the Manchester City shirt,” continued the Briton.

If he hasn’t spoken about the next club he is heading to, rumors speak of a transfer to Chelsea. This could be Chelsea’s first signing since the club was taken over by the consortium led by American Todd Boehly.

The media announced a signing for 5 years with an optional season with the Blues for an amount of more than 55 million euros.
