RADEEJ announces a drop in the flow of drinking water from July 25

The water stress situation is more than serious in the Kingdom. Some regions are suffering more than others, prompting the authorities in charge of the sector to take difficult but necessary measures. It is in this sense that the Autonomous Intermunicipal Water Distribution, Electricity and Liquid Sanitation Management Board of the Provinces of El Jadida and Sidi Bennour (RADEEJ) announced its forced recourse to the reduction of the flow drinking water, starting July 25, 2022.

A press release from the management explains that this measure comes “due to the state of water emergency decreed by the Kingdom, following climate change and the drop in precipitation, which have had a strong impact on the water table and the filling rate of the dams”.

This situation is also explained by the “increase in consumption”, added the press release.

According to RADEEJ, these measures are part of the efforts made to preserve the hydraulic heritage, and in application of circular 12312 of the Minister of the Interior dated July 19, 2022 relating to the management of water resources.

In this regard, the management calls on its customers, as well as all citizens, to preserve water resources, to adopt reasonable consumption and to apply best practices in the context of the preservation of water resources.
