Rabat hosts the 2nd edition of the Leonard De Vinci International Short Film Festival

The second edition of the Leonard De Vinci International Short Film Festival opened on Wednesday evening at the Bahnini Hall in Rabat, in a relaxed film-loving atmosphere.

Organized by the Moroccan Association of Free Artists, in collaboration with the Professional School of Audiovisual and Graphics (EPAG), this event, which continues until July 23, has the participation of a panoply of cinematographic works from from four countries including Morocco, Sudan, France and Belgium.

This cultural event aims to increase opportunities for young directors and neophytes to embrace the world of the 7th art through short films, said Kamal Tirari, president of the Association, adding that EPAG has dedicated scholarships to the winners of this edition to pursue training supervised by professionals from the school. This edition is special given the participation of international cinematographic works, he noted, calling, in this regard, young Moroccan directors, considered a succession, to participate.

For his part, Hicham El Ouali, actor and member of the jury, underlined the importance of the festival because it allows the student freshly graduated in cinema to know the cinematographic works, as well as international professionals in the cinematographic field.

With a diversified national and international participation, as well as daily screenings of short films in theaters, master classes, debates and meetings with professionals, the festival will award different Prizes for the following categories: the Fiction Film Prize, the Documentary Film Award and Creative Film Award. The Leonard De Vinci Festival of Short Films in Rabat considers short films as a unique place for the renewal of writing and a space of all possibilities, where new talents are discovered and sharpened and in which the freedom of creators is expressed. brilliantly.
