opening of the 29th ordinary session of the Superior Council of Ulemas

The work of the 29th ordinary session of the Superior Council of Ulemas opened on Friday evening in Rabat, in the presence of the Minister of Habous and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq.

This session, which is held with the high approval of King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, President of the Superior Council of Ulemas, addresses issues relating in particular to “the action of the Superior Council of Ulemas and the Local Councils of Ulemas since the last session”to “the activity of the Local Councils of Ulemas at the level of their entourage in terms of prevention and development” and to “the optimization of the action of the Imams, Morchidines and Morchidates”.

Speaking on this occasion, the Secretary General of the Superior Council of Ulemas, Mohamed Yessef, underlined that the Kingdom ensures the preservation of its religious foundations and constants, under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine, highlighting the importance of the aspects of the progress made by Morocco on the scientific and spiritual levels, as well as its civilizational and religious influence, consecrated thanks to the central role assumed, in this respect, by Imarat Al Mouminine (Commanderie of the Believers).

Recalling the tradition perpetuated for a long time by the Kings of Morocco by honoring the Ulemas and paying tribute to their role in the consecration of the values ​​of religious and scientific education and the preservation of the constants of the Umma, Yessef noted that King Mohammed VI n never ceased to surround them with His High solicitude.

This conclave of the Oulémas of Morocco is one of the illustrations of this High Royal solicitude, he continued.

Yessef called on the Ulemas to become aware of the responsibility incumbent on them, by working for the consecration of the unity of the Nation and its attachment to its constants, the strengthening of its spiritual values ​​and the consolidation of its patriotic spirit in the service of the country and this, by adopting a moderate discourse and the right balance.

He also highlighted the importance of the role played by the Alimates and their presence as members of the Superior Council of Ulemas, emphasizing their contribution on the intellectual and religious levels to the consolidation of the building of the values ​​of the nation.

The inaugural session of this ordinary session was held in the presence of the presidents of the Local Councils of Ulemas and the Moroccan Council of Ulemas for Europe.
