Nasser Bourita receives Staffan de Mistura

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, held talks on Tuesday, July 5 in Rabat with the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary General for the Moroccan Sahara , Staffan of Mistura.

These talks took place in the presence of the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the UN, Omar Hilale. On this occasion, the Moroccan delegation recalled the constants of Morocco’s position, as reaffirmed by King Mohammed VI in His Speech delivered on the occasion of the 46th Anniversary of the Green March, November 6, 2021, for a political solution , based exclusively on the Moroccan Autonomy Initiative, within the framework of the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

The Moroccan delegation also reiterated Morocco’s commitment to the political process of the round tables, in accordance with resolution 2602, which calls for a “realistic, pragmatic, lasting and compromise-based” political solution to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
