MONUSCO: The Arab Emirates "strongly" condemns the terrorist attack against the FAR contingent in the DRC

The United Arab Emirates “strongly” condemned the terrorist attack against the contingent of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), deployed as part of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), resulting in the death of a Moroccan blue helmet and the injury of other elements of the contingent.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates underlines that the country “strongly condemns these criminal acts” and expresses “its continued rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism which aim to bring undermine security and stability and which are contrary to humanitarian values ​​and principles”.

The ministry reiterated the total solidarity of the United Arab Emirates with the Moroccan mission, which participates with the international peacekeeping forces of the United Nations, in the operations to maintain security and stability in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

He expressed his sincere condolences and sympathy to the government and people of the brotherly Kingdom of Morocco, as well as to the families of the victims of this heinous crime, while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
