Military parade in Paris to celebrate July 14

The traditional military parade, organized in celebration of the French national holiday of July 14, took place Thursday on the avenue des Champs-Elysées in Paris

Some 6,300 elements from the various armed forces, police, gendarmerie, customs and firefighters marched to celebrate this holiday, placed this year under the sign “Share the flame”.

The military parade, chaired by President Emmanuel Macron, opened with the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the Bagad de Lann-Bihoué music group, by the crews of the national navy fleet and the military music ensemble. Breton.

Alphajets from the Patrouille de France then pierced the Parisian sky with their tricolor smoke bombs.

The parade on foot was marked by the participation of military personnel from nine invited foreign countries, namely Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.

This year, and unlike the previous edition organized in the context of the pandemic, the parade took place in the presence in the official stands of foreign guests.

The cavalry regiment of the Republican Guard, responsible for escorting the Head of State and ensuring the security of the highest authorities of the State, closed the parade.
