Israelis largely top eVisa applicants

Launched more than ten days ago, the Moroccan electronic visa (eVisa) has already had great success with nationals of countries wishing to travel to Morocco. Among the greatest applicants for this sesame at the gates of the Kingdom are Israeli nationals, if we are to believe the figures announced last Thursday by the spokesperson for the Moroccan government Mustapha Baitas. during the weekly press briefing at the end of the government council.

To date, 4,241 electronic visa applications have been submitted, including 540 express. 2,385 visas have been granted, 795 are awaiting additional files and 445 are being examined, including 2 express. 58 requests were rejected“. And Baitas added, that Israel was at the top of the requesting countries. Morocco, as a reminder, launched on July 10 the procedure for granting the “eVisa”, to facilitate access to the visa for foreign nationals subject to this formality. Initially, citizens of 49 countries are eligible for this electronic visa to travel to Morocco, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad.

This new visa is valid for up to 180 days from the date of issue. Once in Morocco, the traveler can make stays of 30 days, while having the possibility of entering and leaving Moroccan territory, depending on the validity period of the visa. The Moroccan eVisa is intended for foreign nationals subject to the Moroccan visa requirement, residing legally or who hold a residence or residence permit in the European Union, United Kingdom, Switzerland, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Israeli and Thai nationals are also part of the list of beneficiaries of the Moroccan electronic visa.

That said, some predict in view of the enthusiasm of the Israelis for the eVisa to a large flow of tourists from the Jewish state to Morocco and especially during this summer period. Morocco is ready to welcome thousands of Israelis who are about to travel to the Kingdom, whether for a pilgrimage to the lands of their ancestors, family or tourist visits. The figure of 200,000 Israeli tourists is fearlessly and shamelessly advanced for the current fiscal year. A figure for the rest, which represents four times more Israeli visitors who have visited Morocco since the agreement to normalize diplomatic relations between our two countries.

As a reminder, there are more than 800,000 Israelis of Moroccan origin in Israel and it is therefore only natural that we can rely on these forecasts. This loan for a return had a respondent. Indeed, the Israeli authorities also proceeded on July 8 with the launch of a digital platform, “Israel visa application center in Morocco, BSR Global”, dedicated to Moroccan nationals wishing to travel to Israel.

The eVisa, set up on July 10, 2022 through a dedicated platform, was granted in three days to at least a thousand people for tourist and professional purposes.

This announcement follows the course taken by Morocco, after the digitization of containment measures. The facilitation of procedures will allow travelers from all over the world to obtain an entry visa within 24 hours for express visa applications and 72 hours for standard visas.

This document will allow you to stay in the Kingdom for a maximum of 30 days with the possibility of renewal up to 6 months with multiple entries. This sesame really has something to delight the 49 nationalities, including the Israeli. Moreover, Morocco, which is about to experience an exceptional season, is organizing itself accordingly to welcome thousands of Israelis to its soil.

This tourist flow is a sure sign of the good cooperation between the two countries and that the longer it goes, the more it grows. In just over 18 months, relations have experienced significant development, and this in practically all areas, precisely tourism, security, defence, agriculture, water, industry, business, culture… No! the Horizon has never been clearer than it is today.
