Health: The government launches a program to increase the number of professionals by 2030

The head of government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired, on Monday in Rabat, the signing ceremony of a framework agreement on the implementation of a program to increase the number of health professionals by 2030, for more than 3 billion dirhams (MMDH).

The framework agreement was signed by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Abdellatif Miraoui, and the Minister Delegate in charge of of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaâ.

This program aims to increase the number of health professionals from 17.4 per 10,000 inhabitants in 2021, to 24 by 2025, then to 45 by 2030, which requires doubling the number of medical school graduates. , pharmacy and dentistry, and to triple the number of graduates from higher institutes of nursing and health care techniques by 2025.

There is also talk of setting up new engineering for initial training in the faculties of medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, as well as the creation of 3 faculties of medicine and pharmacy and 3 university hospital centers in Errachidia. , Beni Mellal and Guelmim.

The cost of implementing this program amounts to more than 3 billion dirhams, to which must be added the costs of creating 3 new university hospitals.
