Ford recalls nearly 100,000 hybrid cars

The American automaker Ford has announced the call of about 100,000 vehicles of its hybrid brands for fire risks. The recall affects Espace, Maverick and Lincoln Corsair.

The auto brand has recalled several models in its Escape cars, Mavericks and Lincoln Corsairs from the years 2020 to 2022, Ford announced on Friday.

“While there were no accidents or injuries associated with the issue leading to the latest recall, the company said the vehicles are at risk of igniting under hoods due to leaking engine oil or fuel fumes,” reports Bloomberg.

It seems that the manufacturer has traced a similar fire problem related to the battery junction box. Ford said it is in contact with dealers to find a solution to the problem and that the necessary parts will be available as soon as possible.

Dealers will inspect the junction box and replace affected components if necessary, the brand says.
