For Lekjaa, "the main objective of the Moroccan selection remains consecration"

The main objective of the Moroccan women’s football team, qualified for the World Cup-2023, remains the consecration to the African Cup of Nations (Morocco-2022), said the president of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) , Fouzi Lekjaa.

Qualification for the 2023 Australia-New Zealand World Cup “is only a stage, the main objective remains consecration and this requires victory against Nigeria in the semi-finals”said Fouzi Lekjaa during a visit on Friday to the women’s national team at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Salé.

During this reception, Lekjaa pointed out that “All Moroccans are extremely proud of this feat, the first of its kind ever achieved by Moroccan female footballers”.

He considered, in this sense, that “Moroccan fans want the final victory”.

The Moroccan women’s selection will face their Nigerian counterpart in the semi-finals of the women’s CAN on Monday, at the Prince Moulay Abdellah sports complex in Rabat (9:00 p.m.).

In the quarterfinals, the Atlas Lionesses beat Botswana (2-1), while Nigeria eliminated Cameroon by 1 goal to 0.
