Education: Preparations for the next school year are well underway

The Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, visited on Thursday the training center for preschool educators at Al Jahed Collegiate High School in Salé.

In this sense, he highlighted the importance of the training program for preschool educators in the generalization and improvement of primary education.

As part of this visit, which is part of the ongoing preparations for the next school year, Benmoussa noted that the goal is to see closely the actions carried out by the Moroccan Foundation for the promotion of preschool education. (FMPS).

The training concerns 8,000 educators, including 5,000 recently hired and 3,000 currently working in educational institutions, he said, noting that the training extends over 11 weeks until the end of September and targets the education of 4 and 5 year old children.

This training paves the way for a second phase which includes 500 hours of additional training throughout the year, whether inside or outside the classroom, in order to achieve quality education, a- he underlined, adding that the ministry adopts a policy of proximity in order to generalize and improve preschool in all regions of Morocco.

For his part, the director general of the FMPS, Aziz Kaichouh, told the press that this training targets 8,000 educators, spread over more than 300 training groups, each group being composed of 25 beneficiaries.

He further specified that the Salé training center has 9 groups and that the training period extends over 11 weeks with 400 hours of training in 8 areas of interest for the child.

This training, he said, is primarily aimed at preparing educators to work with children in the upcoming school year.

It should be noted that the FMPS is a non-profit association, endowed with public utility since December 2009, having a general assembly and directed by a board of directors.
