Casablanca Stock Exchange: A week in the red

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the week from July 25 to 29, 2022 in the red, its main index, the Masi, dropping 0.89% to 11,818.46 points.

The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, lost 1.14% to 954.65 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, the benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) index. , depreciated by 1.14% to 882.14 points.

At the end of this week, 13 sector indices closed in negative territory, against 10 on a positive note. The index of holding companies (+3.33%) recorded the best weekly performance, ahead of that of transport (+3.32%) and beverages (+3.03%).

On the other hand, “telecommunications” (-3.64%) showed the strongest decline, followed by the “chemicals” (-3.39%) and “electricity” (-2.65%) sectors.

The overall volume amounted to more than 175.22 million dirhams (MDH). On the podium of the most active stocks are Itissalat Al-Maghrib with a transaction volume of 40.67 MDH, Attijariwafa Bank (30.34 MDH) and SMI (21.14 MDH).

Market capitalization exceeded 614 billion dirhams.

On the securities side, the best performances of the week were the work of Involys (+5.96%), Société des Boissons du Maroc (+4%), Mutandis SCA (+3.83%), CTM (+3, 49%) and Delta Holding (+3.36%).

Conversely, the largest declines were recorded by M2M Group (-10.13%), SMI (-8.13%), Disway (-7.03%), Cartier Saada (-5.61%) , and Douja Prom Addoha (-4.15%).
