23 cases admitted to REA in 24 hours, for a national total of 149 cases

The occupancy rate of resuscitation beds was established this Saturday, July 9 at 2.8%. In just 24 hours, 23 new severe cases were admitted to intensive care, bringing the national total to 149 critical cases. The cases under artificial respiration are 40 nationwide, and 2 other cases are under intubation, the Ministry of Health said in its daily epidemiological report.

The number of new tests carried out in 24 hours reached 11,837 for a national total of 12,041,942 tests carried out since the start of the pandemic. In addition, Morocco has recorded in the past 24 hours, four deaths due to Covid-19.

These deaths were recorded in the regions of Souss-Massa (1 in Taroudant and 1 in Chtouka-Ait Baha), Marrakech-Safi (1 in Essaouira) and Béni-Mellal-Khénifra (1 in Béni-Mellal), specified the ministry in its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, announcing a total of 16,151 death cases. The case fatality rate stood at 1.3% this Saturday.

Morocco has also recorded 2,974 recoveries, bringing the national total since the start of the pandemic to 1,201,944 remissions. The recovery rate stands at 96.9% this Saturday, while the total number of active cases stands at 22,752 cases (1.88%).

The Ministry of Health thus invites citizens to respect the rules of hygiene and health safety as well as the preventive measures taken by the Moroccan authorities by showing responsibility and patriotism.
