League of Nations: Denmark well placed for the Final 4, France loses its title

Denmark retained the lead of their group in the League of Nations on Monday by beating Austria 2-0, remaining well placed in the race for the Final 4, from which France, beaten 1-0 by Croatia, was excluded, losing thus officially his title.

Thanks to two goals scored in the first half by Jonas Wind and Andreas Skov Olsen, the Danes easily brushed aside the Austrians, maintaining a two-point lead over the Croats by nine points, and five over their opponents on Monday.

This small mattress places the Danes in a good position to hope to secure a place for the Final 4, whose meetings will take place from June 14 to 18, 2023. In this perspective, the Croatia-Denmark meeting of September 22 already appears decisive.

With its fourth place in the standings (2 points), France, which had won the last edition of the League of Nations in 2021, on the other hand officially lost its title on Monday evening.

In League B, the second tier of the competition, Iceland and Israel drew 2-2. With 5 points, Israel leads the standings.

In League C, Kazakhstan retains first place in the standings with 10 points thanks to its victory (2-1) over Slovakia, in second place (6 points). Azerbaijan follows in third place with (4 points), victorious (2-0) against Belarus.
