FIFA Youth Football Development Workshops

The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) has designated Morocco to hold two amateur and youth football development workshops. The Institution also praised the work of the Royal Football Academy.

Launched today, Tuesday, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamora (Salé), these workshops are expected to continue until June 24. Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) and Minister Delegate, in charge of the Budget, in a speech for the occasion, during the opening ceremony of these two workshops, welcomed the fifty-three experts from FIFA who take part in this work which aims to develop and care for grassroots football and to refine the qualifications of young talents.

Faouzi Lekjaa explained that the FRMF has adopted an important strategy for the development of Moroccan football, which is to pay attention to training in its various aspects, underlining the strategy of his institution to focus on the development of football by relying on the establishment of Regional Centers to raise the level of young male and female categories. For his part, Steven Martins, Technical Director of FIFA recalled that the choice to organize these two workshops, which will take place in Morocco, was decided because of the excellent quality of the existing infrastructure and facilities in the Kingdom, including the complex Mohammed VI football club in Maamora, the main vector in the choice of these workshops.

He praised in passing, the great work of the FRMF and its DTN both in terms of support and training of young people and amateurs. Martines underlined that FIFA reaches out to everyone with the sincere objective of developing football, the queen sporting discipline. At the end of these workshops, the CAF Pro training certificate, recognized by FIFA, will be obtained. In this workshop participate a group of international coaches, from different countries of the continent as well as 23 national coaches including among other eminences, Badou Zaki or Houcine Amouta for obtaining a precious certificate.
