CAF Awards 2022: Hakimi, Bounou, Boufal and Regragui nominated

The list of nominees for the Confederation of African Football trophies, CAF Awards 2022, was unveiled on Thursday. Several Moroccan players are included, alongside the national coach and the coach of Wydad Casablanca.

In the Player of the Year category (Men), we will thus retain the presence of the Atlas Lions Achraf Hakimi (PSG), Yassine Bounou (FC Sevilla), Sofiane Boufal (Angers) and Yahia Jabrane (WAC).

National coach Vahid Halilhodzic and newly crowned WAC coach Walid Regragui are competing for the title of best coach of the year.

The ceremony of the CAF trophies which consecrates the player of the year, interclub player of the year, young player of the year, national team of the year and Club of the year, is scheduled for July 21 in Rabat.

Alongside the Moroccan internationals, are also in the running for the Player of the Year, the Egyptian Mohamed Salah, the Algerian Riyad Mehrez and the Senegalese Sadio Mané.

In the player category of interclub competitions, the Moroccan presence is notable with Achraf Dari (WAC), Yahya Jabrane (WAC), Zouhair El Moutaraji (WAC), Mouhcine Metouali (RCA), Youssef Fahli (RSB) and Issoufou Dayo (RSB) .

Besides the players, Morocco is also present at team level with the national team in the National Team of the Year category, as well as Raja de Casablanca, RS Berkane and Wydad de Casablanca, for the club of the year .
