Week in the red for the Casablanca Stock Exchange

The Casablanca Stock Exchange closed the period from May 23 to 27 in the red, its main index, the Masi, yielding 2.31% to 12,334.93 points.

The Morocco Stock Index 20 (MSI20), which reflects the price performance of the 20 most liquid companies, lost 2.35% to 995.56 points and the Casablanca ESG 10, the benchmark Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) index. , fell 2.06% to 926.52 points.

At the end of this week, 19 sector indices ended on a negative note, against 3 in positive territory and a sector which remained stable.

The Forestry and Paper Index (-7.72%) posted the largest decline, followed by Oil and Gas (-4.86%).

Against the trend, the hardware, software and IT services sector index (+1.24%) recorded the best weekly performance, ahead of real estate (+0.96%).

The overall volume amounted to nearly 1.33 billion dirhams (MDH). On the podium of the most active stocks are LafargeHolcim Morocco with a transaction volume of 40.91 million dirhams (MDH), Attijariwafa Bank (38.48 MDH) and Itissalat Al-Maghrib (31.05 MDH).

Market capitalization exceeded 644.89 billion dirhams.

On the securities side, the biggest drops of the week were recorded by TGCC SA (-8.32%), Jet Contractors (-8.22%), Cartier Saada (-8.21%), Med Paper (-7, 72%) and Cosumar (-5.25%). On the other hand, the best performances were the work of Mechanical Achievements (+5.42%), HPS (+3.05%), Douja Prom Addoha (+2.85%), Ennakl (+2.11 %) and Unimer (+2.05%).
