Morocco participates for the first time in the International Biennale of Crafts and Creation

Morocco will be represented for the first time at the next International Biennial of Crafts and Creation, “Revelations”, in Paris. Morocco has chosen 8 art creators.

This year after an interruption due to covid-19, the Biennale will return in June, and will put Africa as a continent in the spotlight.

The Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy as well as the Maison de l’Artisan will participate by sending 8 Moroccan designers to represent Morocco, its know-how and its creativity.

“We are particularly proud to see the talent and excellence of Moroccan master craftsmen shine at Révélations, the world epicenter of fine crafts. They are the ambassadors and the spearheads of an intangible heritage, of exceptional richness and diversity, also presenting a very high growth potential, in view of the international demand for handmade luxury products. said Fatim-Zahra Ammor, Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy.

This heritage is all the more precious and strategic for us as it provides for millions of jobs, she continued.

This action is part of two major axes of the sector’s new strategy, namely the promotion of Moroccan craftsmanship internationally and support for an upmarket production.

Among the Moroccan creators are Soumiya Jalal who will present his weavings, Ghizlane Sahli with a sculpture in recycled products and covered with silk, Younès Serghini with ceramic creations, Hamza Kadiri with an ebony chest of drawers.
