Morocco elected president of the Maghreb Union of Young Lawyers

Morocco was elected president of the Maghreb Union of Young Lawyers during the 1st congress of this body, held from May 12 to 22 in Hammamet, Tunisia.

Morocco was elected president of the Union in the person of the lawyer Bencheikh Mohamed Lhabib during this congress organized under the theme “arbitration and international contracts” with the participation of experts and specialists from the Maghreb region .

The latter indicated that the operation to renew the members of the office of the Maghreb Union took place in the presence of more than 180 lawyers from various countries of the region.

He recalled that this event was the culmination of a number of meetings held in Morocco, notably in Rabat and Agadir, as well as in Tunisia.

In addition to the renewal of the members of the office, Bencheikh Mohamed Lhabib indicated that the meeting addressed a large number of subjects concerning both lawyers and Maghreb complementarity in terms of services.

According to him, the objective of this body is to develop synergies and common action in the region, given, he adds, that the legal profession is a locomotive for the development of the Maghreb region.

The Moroccan lawyer Moulay Rachid El Gherfi was also elected vice-president during this congress, which created an enlarged national council which included 75 members.
